Principal’s Corner

Hello, Wildcat Families!

It has been a busy week! On Tuesday, our 5th grade class presented their science fair projects for Science Discovery Day. They did a phenomenal job!

Tonight, we will be celebrating our Wildcat athletes at the athletic banquet!

This week’s Wildcat of the Week is Callen Bloebaum. Callen is a fourth grade student in Mrs. Duncan’s class. Mrs. Duncan described him as well mannered, hard working, smart, and always willing to help. Way to go, Callen!

We have had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! We are blessed with the best here at St. Joe! Thank you to everyone who has brought in gifts and goodies throughout the week.

The Isaiah Project 1:17 Walk for Dreams will be held next Wednesday (5/15). Students may wear comfy clothes to school on this day. If your student collected money for this fundraiser, please have them turn it into the office by Monday.

Our Early Childhood Moving Up Program is next Thursday (5/16) at 1 PM. Preschool and Pre-K families, we will meet in the church for songs and a slideshow. We will then head to the gym for an art show and refreshments. Hope to see you there!

Fifth Grade Graduation will be held on Friday (5/17). We will start with Mass at 8:15 AM. Following Mass, we will celebrate our graduates with awards and a slideshow. Breakfast will be served afterwards for all fifth grade families in the Gym. Fifth grade students, please wear your Sunday best to Mass. You may change into your fifth grade shirts and shorts for your fun day afterwards!

Field Day is coming up on Thursday, May 23rd. We have lots of fun activities planned for the afternoon. If you are interested in helping out, please contact  Mrs. Bruce! Students may wear a spirit shirt and their choice of bottoms for field day. They do not have to be uniform shorts or pants.

Families, as we get closer to the end of the year, please check your cafeteria accounts. All payments will be due by the conclusion of the school year.

The School Choice Scholarship window is now open. You must reapply each year for the School Choice Scholarship. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Fischer (kfischer@evdio.org) or Dr. Spindler (kspindler@evdio.org).

Have a great weekend!

Mothers’ Day is this coming Sunday.  Mary was Jesus’ mother so it is fitting that we celebrate her and our own mother. We have many hispanic friends in our town. What are the spanish words they use for mother and mom?
